A brand new year seems the perfect time to introduce some of the fledgling services who have set up shop on the Tipstrr platform over the past few months, and we’re happy to present our pick of the bunch in our countdown of January’s Best New Tipsters.

There’s a 50-50 split between football and horse racing this month, and no prizes for guessing that the simple race-winner service of Jockey’s Choices belongs to the latter category.

Our first football tipster is RT Tips, who hasn’t taken long to make an impact, with just five months of service already showing enough to suggest that this short-term success has longer-term potential.
A selective strategy aimed at various markets across mainly English-based competitions has been rewarded with four out of five profitable months, crowned by January’s 71% win rate and a tidy 11% return on investment.
8th The Secret Horseman Horse racing
- 28 tips, 27% ROI, £318 profit
Although The Secret Horseman might want to draw a veil over the last couple of months of 2024, January’s performance appears to be far more representative of this horse racing service’s capabilities.
Three winners from a moderate supply of just 28 selections included 12/1 and 10/1 shots, and backed up by a further five each-way places and a lucrative each-way trixie, anyone deploying £20 stakes would have ended the month £300 better off than they began it.
7th SamGreen Football
- 30 Tips, 57.0% ROI, £342 profit
We’re prepared to give the benefit of the doubt to SamGreen, whose Draws-based service boasts the highest ROI of this top ten, thanks to a 43% hit rate that would have put him top of the pile, but for the fact that his tips dried up early in the month.
Nevertheless, even a reduced output of 30 selections managed to add almost £350 to the kitty, and with January’s 57% yield following on from double-digit gains in each of the last three months of 2024, it could be worth monitoring SG’s progress as we head deeper into 2025
6th Sutton Racing Tips Horse racing
- 122 tips, 18.4% ROI, £448 profit
In sixth place, Sutton Racing Tips is still finding a foothold on the Tipstrr platform, but if January’s performance is a reliable measure, then it could be worth following the progress of this simple race-winner service through 2025.
A healthy supply of 122 selections yielded 27 winners priced from as low as a 7/4 favourite right up to a couple of juicy 12/1 shots, contributing to a 22% win rate that formed the backbone of January’s 7% ROI and boosted the kitty to the tune of nearly £450.
5th Excel Racing Horse racing
- 255 tips, 16.8% ROI, £857 profit
Anyone who likes a healthy mix of race-winner and each-way bets should enjoy the varied service of Excel Racing, who has enjoyed month-on-month growth since first setting up his Tipstrr shop back in September.
With the main focus on the top end of the market, a high success rate is vital in converting lower odds into a decent profit, and January’s 33% win rate (48% place rate) certainly met the brief, resulting in a best-yet 18% yield that added over £800 to the betting bank.
4th Harrislamb Football (+ others)
- 96 tips, 42.3% ROI, £813 profit
Our top four is dominated by promising new football tipsters, kicking off with Harrislamb, who has actually been around sporadically since the back end of 2023, but only booted his service properly last November.
A downward dip in December has been comfortably absorbed by double-digit growth in November (25% ROI) and January (42%), all thanks to a diverse multi-sport approach that prioritises value above risk, perfectly illustrated by landing no fewer than four Correct Score 2-2 draws (all at 14/1) over the last two weeks.
3rd The Contrari13n Football
- 23 tips, 24.9% ROI, £114 profit
Occupying our first podium position and on the lookout for goals, The Contrari13n offers a straightforward service that aims solely at the Over 2.5 Goals market, with his selective output of around eight tips per week looking tailor-made for those with a more moderate betting appetite.
That focus on quality above quantity has been rewarded either side of the New Year, with December and January’s monthly yields both resting on a very attractive 25% mark, and boding well for a profitable 2025 ahead.
2nd Active Betting Hub Horse racing
- 341 tips, 31.8% ROI, £2,167 profit
Breaking this top four’s football domination, our runner-up Active Betting Hub has hit the ground running since launching his high-volume high-odds service at the back end of October, with mouthwatering monthly yields in November (32%), December (25%) and January (31%).
A bustling output of up to 100 each-way tips per week requires disciplined betting and might be too prolific for some tastes, but with more than 14K in clear profit banked since the start of November, it could be argued that the bankroll has been pretty much managing itself.
1st GizFoot Football
- 34 tips, 45.7% ROI, £311 profit
Last but far from least, the accolade of January’s Best New Tipster goes to GizFoot, who kicked off 2025 very much as he ended 2024, with January’s 45% ROI following on nicely from similar hefty returns in October (52%) and November (56%).
Following the increasingly popular Draws market is not for the faint-hearted, with every seemingly successful selection walking a tightrope of vulnerability that could potentially be frustrated by a late goal at either end.
However, Gizfoot has managed to navigate that minefield with admirable aplomb, boasting an impressive 39% success rate that has put over £800 profit in the kitty from just 137 tips since October.
That concludes January’s Best New Tipster leaderboard, and as ever we must point out that the promising starts enjoyed by these newcomers does not necessarily guarantee longer-term success.
However, we have every confidence that GizFoot and the other new services listed above can build on their promising early results and make their way onto our main leaderboards as we head deeper into 2025.
